Is this a sign he misses me or am I being delusional?

I was seeing this guy for over a year. We ended things not long ago because I found out he was sleeping with multiple differnet women and he got angry at me for finding out basically. I really really liked this guy, I don’t think I’ll ever like anyone as much as I liked this guy. When he left I used to cry in my sleep it was awful I turned into a mess. Anyway I called him the other night and he always calls me back and texts me saying ‘when do you wanna call’ or sometimes he will message saying ‘stranger how have you been’ and he will always compliment my Instagram stories but is this a sign he misses me or am I being delusional? He told me to call him later but I am scared to ask if he misses me incase I go through this whole sadness era again. I was really good to him that year I have him everything whenever he wanted and I’d pay for everything and give him sex whenever he wanted I’d be there for him constantly I’d buy him gifts so I don’t know if he misses the way I was so obsessed
