Coworker started following me on ig suddenly?

Ok hear me out please. Normally I wouldn't ask this dumb question but I can't comprehend why.

4 months ago, a new IT guy has started working in a laboratory I work in. He's really handsome and every girl that works there agrees.

I have never had a conversation with him, we just greet each other and that's it and I thought that maybe he's one of those who follow people based on whether they seem familiar to him or not. I gotta be honest, I stalked his ig for a while and he doesn't post anything, no stories but what I noticed is that he always seemed to only follow people back, never made the first step, that's why it surprised me that he started following me.

Another thing is, my nickname on ig is really hard to find and my page is empty, no photos, no bio. I do post stories occassionaly but he never saw them.

I understand he might have found me through mutual friends (we have 2) and that he probably just wanna be friends or something but I find it interesting he followed me, who he never talked with, and not other girls from work with who he talks more

Never mind guys. Recently he added almost every girl from the lab and his first photo is a gym selfie lmao
probably just fishing for ladies' attention
