If he does not - The girl will NOT respect him. Period.

Women respect and are loyal to men that protect and provide for them.

The person that controls the finances and makes most the money should be the guy if he wants a wife that respects and loves him.

Relationships are a value exchange. The only thing men have to offer are what they provide.

How can someone that is (or pretends to be) in the age group 18-24 want to go back in the 1950's and live like those who grew up in that era and think like you. You have no experience of that time yet to propagate the ideas that are long past.

You do not have the experience yet you preach them. It is like if I say that the quality of life was better in the sixties even though I did not live in that time.

You may be old fashioned and your thinking also but would it not be time to wake up and realize we live in 2023. I am not joking, look at a calendar...

I wouldn't be that black and white about it. But yes, due to antiquated gender roles generally men are expected to maintain an income higher than a woman. How much higher? Well the figure I've heard most often is 2 to 1 but that's kind of up for debate. Women statistically make 70% what a man does. So simple extrapolation tells you that a guy that makes more than 30% more than a woman is carrying more than his fair share.

Personally I think every relationship is unique and you shouldn't try to formulate someone worth. How bout instead just finding someone with character. Money comes and goes, jobs come and goes, health and material possessions come and go. But CHARACTER is PERMANENT.
