At what age did you keep your knees together when say getting into a car?

I must have been about11, I didn't want the boys to see my knickers, now I don't care if I show them

I didn’t wear dresses or skirts, except for special occasions. Only once I was wearing shorts on the N. Y. Subway 🚇, and though they were close-fitting, my mother had told me to sit with my legs closed.

I asked why and she said it wasn’t proper.

I looked around saw a few older guys opposite of my sister and I.

I looked and realized my leg stance and their leg stance.

I agreed and made a conscious effort to fix it lol.

I felt like sitting that way was trying to show off those parts. Obviously it was comfortable, but it could give the wrong idea, or welcome unwanted attention.

I don't get into cars that I am not comfortable in so rarely. And the age? Probably around puberty. But yeah, it more or less depends on what I'm wearing at the time. Luckily, I rarely wear short enough skirts! I'm more of a pants, slacks, jeans, yoga pants and business casual type of chick haha.

I was about 5 when I decided that dressed and skirts were unacceptable attire and refused to wear them.


Even as a child I could tell they only existed to be pleasing to the male gaze.
