Sounds to me he’s one of those douche bags that thinks the PUA approach of “negging.” It’s a tactic that is used by sociopaths as well.


Essentially the idea is to put you down enough that it shakes your confidence and makes you more vulnerable to any positive attention. If this is the case, at some point he’ll flip it and start saying more positive things … and when/if he does he’ll try to get you alone with him or he’ll do it over text or the phone (he can’t afford to have others see him as weak). If you ask why he was saying mean things and now being nice, he’ll likely tell you that he was “just joking” or he “was nervous so it came out as negatives … but I really like you.”


It may not be the case, but keep on the lookout and don’t give him positive signals. If he is doing this it’s guaranteed at some point he’ll try to sleep with you, especially if you give him any positive feedback. Be careful with him.
