Why does he stare and then ignore me?

There was this guy that liked me and I liked him too. Unfortunately, I was too shy and took too long to respond and when I did, he rejected me. I moved on and ignored him. Now a school year later, we have 2 classes together again, but now he's starting to pay attention to me. He stares at me a lot in class. I'll turn my head in class and he would be staring at me and it would feel like he's been staring at me for a while. Also, when I try to turn and have conversations with my best friend, he'll watch me have my conservations. His stares are always the same. Blank with no expression and even when I catch him staring, he won't look away. Afterschool one day, he ran ahead of me outside and kept turning around and looking at me. Then, in the hallway when I walk past him, he'll be with his friends and he can't even hold a glance. He'll grab onto his id lanyard, fidget with it, and look at the ground until he passes me. Then, some days, it'll be absolutely nothing from him. Why so much confidence to stare at me in class, but none anywhere else? Or in particular, when he's with his friends. I feel like he hasn't moved on yet. Does he still like me? Opinions?

hard to say, but I think he does. as for the grocery list of questions.

staring in class is easy, you can always look like your zoning out or thinking, only you and the person you're staring at knows that you're staring.

as for the friends, the friends probably know about him liking you in the past, and most likely would give him sh*t for liking you again, so he can't show signs around them... just a guess lol.

i would say, he still likes you, or thinks you are pretty.. but he's afraid you guys won't go anywhere because of being shy.. if you still like him I would attempt to talk to him, I mean, what's the worst that could happen? it can't be awful..

Go up to him and ask why he's staring. Hopefully that'll lead into the answer to your question. He may still like you and not be sure how to approach you since he shot you down last time, but can't be sure unless you talk to him. :) Good luck.

Ofcourse he still likes you. If you have the same feelings for him, then why don't you approach him and talk? he seems like a nice guy.

He probably likes you. Are you interested in him? If so, try asking him out and see where it goes. (He's probably not going to ask you out, since your behavior last time was interpreted as a lack of interest.)
