Why didn’t he stand up for me?

Me and this guy has been talking and doing things for 3 months and we share this friend who’s closer to him than me. Well the friend asked me if he could take me out on a date for Valentine’s Day (he was being serious) in front of the guy I’m talking too and he was hyping the date up. Like he was encouraging it. Then when we were all watching a movie he decided to finger me underneath the blanket and tempt me while the friend kept persisting on taking me out. When the friend brought it up he would finger me deeper. What’s up with him? Why didn’t he stand up for me?
