Why would my ex text me every few months for 5 years (while he was with someone else) even though I never replied?

My ex would text me once every few months and I never replied once. I did, however, reply once, he said he wanted to meet me. I keep wondering what he wanted to say.
Why would a guy do such a thing?

The best way to handles ex who break-up but can’t let go is the following: thank you for reaching but please do not text or SM me again.

If he fails then you block him in everything. This is a sure sign that you are patient and not reacting inappropriately.

As far as meet you, it sounds like regret, however, it is not likely that the fundamentals of his personality have changed or matured. He may be more controlled now BUT that is on his very best behavior
