I have a boyfriend and just met this guy last night in my class. We live in the same apartment and I will have to see him every week in class for the rest of the semester. He asked me for my number and I gave it to him under the pretense of being classmates.

It is entirely okay to have a guy friend while you have boyfriend. BUT, you have to be honest with guy.

So, I'd respond, "Hey guy! It was nice to meet you too. This class is going to be great. Thanks for the compliment -- that's really nice. I have a boyfriend and I'm not looking to change that, but if we wanted to get food with our classmates sometime, I'd enjoy that."

Just be simple and be nice. You guys are classmates and live near each other -- don't make it awkward.
