They have been my friends for a far longer time than I have had a boyfriend.
They have proven themselves and I have proven myself to them and I am very strict when it comes to calling someone a friend.
My guy friends just as my girl friends are also an extension of family.
If a person demands me to stop communicating with a person I consider an extension of family, I won't even entertain that discussion. I won't even hear them out, they can feel free to leave.
I will always choose my friends first.
Always.
No matter the gender and there are no exceptions.

They have been my friends for more than a decade and our relationship has always been platonic and that doesn't change and won't change in the future. If the person I am with cannot tolerate that, they can feel free to leave, nothing is holding them.

I have had male friends who wanted me sexually and got more aggressively horny once they found out I had a boyfriend. And others waited until my boyfriend and I broke up to try to have sex with me.

But most women have male friends bc they are a lot easier to talk to about sex, relationship advice, and they will take care of the bill if you go out. They are also good to have to help with maintenance or buy a car from. A boyfriend doesn't always have all those skills. Also it's good to have male friends who can refer you to certain jobs or networking events.

I've had both male and female friends my whole life. If you are uncomfortable with that, my policy is don't date me. That's fine. I'll not be lorded over by someone who thinks it's inappropriate or unreasonable to have a male friends. Male friends are those I DO NOT want to make out with or do anything of that nature with, but they offer a different perspective in life that I cannot get from a female friend. It's the same reason I have friends with different religions, from different countries, from different political views, etc.

What are you talking about? Everyone has friends (male and female) before the boyfriend/girlfriend/so pops into their lives. Why would they suddenly abandon everyone in their life just because of one person? That makes no sense at all. (It's actually one of the red flags for a toxic boyfriend/girlfriend/so.)
