Why isn't this guy reaching out to me?

Guy (X) is a mutual friend, and we will meet whenever we go out for drinks, although not together. Initially, it started off with compliments and buying drinks, but the last time I met him, he actually asked me out on a date the next day. However, he has no way of contacting me because he never asked for my number or even my Instagram. His good friend used to talk to me on Instagram, so is it safe to assume that he knows my Instagram, but just doesn't want to approach me?

We only meet when I go for drinks (he goes there very often, and I go there once in a while), so we don't get to meet all the time as well.

It sounds like he is playing games. He took the Risk and asked out. She said yes so he is conqueror.-Kinda of like sex on first date and Done.

It may have been an oversight. He may have forgotten to ask for your number. And he may be embarrassed.

It seems more likely that since he knows you would that he wants to be chased like as if he was the woman. “Let’s see how bad she wants me” via Instagram etc.

He’s a man. He created the problem. He knows how to solve the problem if he is serious. If his pride is such that he can’t approach then you don’t want a spineless and frightened of adversity scaredy-cat anyway
