I really liked this guy, but he was so shy when he met me. Could I have done something?

I recently met this guy that I really liked. He is nice, thoughtful and sweet over text message. However, when we met in person, he didn't really say much. I was the one who had to initiate the conversation, and it made me worried. I'm not bad looking, and we already established that neither of us did anything wrong, so why was he so shy?

I like the 3 Strikes and Out rule and would recommend that to you...STOP with the Perfection Syndrome as this is very normal in 30 and under world.

Given you are 30, I am sure you have learned that the Texter and the person in front of your face are different. It is easy to exude emotion and lead when she's not looking at your face, into your eyes, and comparing and contrasting the Texter/Face-Face Guy who are one in the same now...This is exactly why text twice, set date, and meet works into long-term success. There is only one man (Face-Face) for the woman to dissect into absurdity... :-)

There are millions of people out there that are super shy sometimes it takes some time to warm up. Or maybe he's just nervous and don't want to say the wrong thing. Or maybe he just doesn't want to seem pushy

He most likely really likes you but is just normally a shy guy. Texting and talking is two different territories for shy people.

I'm shy and texting gives me more courage when talking. I can take all the time I need to find the "perfect" way to word my messages to people. I can take all the time to think of a response. In person, I have one chance and have to find something immediate to respond to.

Eventually, I do get less shy once I start getting comfortable with the person. I'd give him a few more shots and see where the next few dates go.

Because he’s in his house on the cell phone that’s totally different ball game compared to being shy in person. It takes time to get used to somebody.
