Anyone else feel like they’re dumb and can’t hold an adult conversation? Will a man want me?

I’m very emotional and in my emotions 34 7. It’s ridiculous. Can barely hold a convo at an adult level irl. Most people don’t get me. I feel like maybe I could get a date or a hubby if when men spoke to me I actually could form a convo and stuff. But I can’t. I’m very passive.

Well, if you got yourself a job and lived through high school… you can definitely talk to people.

You’re already halfway there, with a face, two eyes, two ears, and a

mouth piece—> 👄

Now all you have to do for the second half, is talk about literally whatever you want to. Anything, and you can start with commenting on the things around you and the other person, and talk some about interesting stories in the news, or news about the job (if it’s a coworker you’re speaking with) or news about the area/place you’re both in.

Then, if they choose to talk about stuff they WANT. You can just ask questions and listen.

Then comment on one or two of the things they mentioned, sharing what you think about the “news they shared.”

It’s too simple. It’s all too simple.

You probably have social anxiety to some degree. I had a very severe case of social anxiety in my teens and 20s. I would say you might benefit from a Psychiatrist prescribing something like effexor or Abilify (or whatever they choose to try).

Practice makes perfect; it's much easier to chat about things you're interested in, more so if the other person has an interest as well. Perhaps meet some new people doing a hobby you enjoy? Or try out a new one?

I am wondering if there is some sort of "coaching" that you can get into that will help point you in the right direction. How is your life otherwise? Are you living on your own and do you have a full time job?

I work yes and pay my own way. I have no body to rely on. Do you think I’m that bad that I need a coach ;/

Well it isn't because you might be "that bad" at all. Just that if you feel that you have issues relating to others and holding a conversation, perhaps someone can help coach you in the right direction. At some time or another, most of us need some sort of guidance in one way or another.

Ok ok thanks. I’ve done it but it’s not my natural state. I know most people need constant interaction via talking. It’s foreign to me. I am more in tune with emotions that the talking
