In my dating experiences I have noticed Asian men are kind as this.. say thank you. I’m European my boyfriend is Japanese when I would say even goodnight he would say “thank you “ lol I was confused as you. I thought was he trying to avoid me? Etc etc but it turned out some cultures raise men like this.. appreciative!

I dont find it odd. He just wants to make sure that you know that he treasures you and that you are the best thing in his life. You are the one that makes him smile and happy. I wpuld be honoured to have someone atually tell me that.
Odd? Yes. But appreciative, which is always a good thing. He likes you and what you're doing together; don't let his expressing it awkwardly get in the way of that.
