Why did guy tell me "thanks love"?

A guy sent me a message on Facebook asking me something (about work). When I told him the answer to what he asked he said "thanks love".

People say he likes me and say he stares at me. He also helps me out a lot, hugs randomly and supposedly I'm one of the only ones he talks to.

I know this is just a term some people use and I always over think things but I've never heard him ever say it before. Usually he just says thank you.

What did he mean by saying "thanks love"? Is he hinting at something?

It is very possible that he may like you. Usually if I like a girl I would say "thanks you" or something along those lines, if I didn't like her I would just say thanks, or cheers.

I figured that's not something guys say to girls they don't like but didn't want to assume since it can be a friendly term too, I think.

Is he English or Australian? That's a term of endearment there. It's kind of like, thanks sweetie.

My question to you is, are you hoping he's hinting at something?

He's not English or Australian (American) and that's not something I'd expect him to say. In person he just says thank you.

And yes I am hoping so, I do have a huge crush on him but I don't want to assume he is or assume he likes me in case he's really just being friendly.
