Why would a guy say thank you so much?

This guy I like who talks to me. I recently gave him something. He literally said thank you more than 4 times. Do guys do this when they like you? Is he nervous, just showing he cares, etc. ?

What about gloves? I was at practice for track today, and it was absolutely freezing outside. He only had fingerless gloves and I swapped gloves with him. He said thank you so much quite a few times too. I like him and just want to know!

Being a gentleman is saying thank you, yes please, opening your car door open, holding the door open for you, pushing your chair in for you, standing up when you go to the restroom at the restaurant or whatever. It’s a sign of being a gentleman. The only other thing that comes to mind is him feeling nervous or shy.
