Why would he say thank you after I kissed his cheek?

So my childhood crush (he gave me a diamond bracelet when we were 11) and I reconnected after 10 years, we picked up right where we left off about a year ago now, it's as though there was no time in between. He is very shy and only had one girlfriend. Well I finally decided to give him a kiss on the cheek and he said "thank you" lol... I thought it was cute and sweet. Could he have just been nervous and didn't know what else to say? I mean he did call his buddy up one day last week cause I needed a boost and told him I owe him a kiss. Either way, it was so cute

Some guys feel like it's polite to say it. I know it's not necessary but he might just think it's polite. Have you wanted to kiss him (his lips) and just nervous to move it there?

He is a gentleman so that makes sense and yes, I want to kiss him on the lips but have been nervous to because I actually really like him, but he said he could probably come visit me on the weekend at my house... alone... so I'll take my opportunity then to do that and then some ;) I just worry that if I give myself away guy will just walk away after cause that's happened to me a few times, but I can't see him doing that because he is not like that at all. All the signs are there that he really likes me.

Best thing to do is always ask, first. I know it's not romantic but, you want to make sure they're ok with it, because maybe they're waiting on someone specific, ya know?

But, alcohol always helps. Sort of lowers inhibitions about it. If he doesn't like it, you can just blame it on the alcohol.

However, remember that would mean your first OFFICIAL kiss, was DUI

Most likely, it just caught me off guard because I'm not used to that lol. That was the first time a guy was ever polite after showing affection. Hopefully it's a good thing.

Like as in liking me more than just a friend? I know that's a dumb question, I'm not very good at these things :/ I'm the only girl he let's close like that and only girl he talks to etc. All the signs are there, it's just weird because he is a really nice guy, just shy... not used to a guy being kind, always ended up with narcissists lol
