Was my friends with benefits referring to a relationship?

I pissed off my friends with benefits for dating and being intimate with 2 other men. We were never in a relationship but we were just "cuddle buddies". I liked him but I told him that I wasn't interested in him. We never dated at all but just sexted a lot. He screamed at me when he left: "you have plenty of other guys, why do you need me? you have so many other guys, why should I pick you? it seems like you don't want me to pick you!!"

what did he exactly mean by "pick me"? like as for a relationship?

I don't really understand what his problem is, if he knew he was getting into an friends with benefits situation, then why have the attitude?

Not sure how these things work or if there is a protocol:

1) Perhaps, he thought you should have bumped him up to the primary friends with benefits spot rather than being with these other guys?

2) If you do more with these other guys than you do with him and he has been around longer, then maybe he feels a little jilted due to you not asking him first?

Pfff who knows!!! Why do guys think they can tame us especially if we just started out fucking. He is jealous. He wants all the attention on him etc BUT have him make you his girlfriend if he wants more? Like wtf
