How do I overcome my anger issues?

Sometimes in a day my anger just takes hold of me and I literally feel like I can kill somebody. And honestly that’s not the type of person I wanna be. There was just a single wrong done to me 4 years ago that through me into a depression state, but when I overcame that I found myself having a nasty temper. Any suggestions on what I can do to control it?
