Why does a married man fix his hair and straighten his shirt when he sees a girl?

You know, contrary to popular belief us married men still react (gasp) in the same way as single men when there's a pretty girl around. We want to look good. We still want to compete with the peers. Whos more popular or cooler? Its human nature. Who doesn't?

From my experience, 9 times out of 10 the women are more drawn to the married man. Now that, is a whole 'nother subject altogether.

It's just the salesman's tactic to make a great first impression. I just do everything in the morning just to go into public... but other guys are more lazy than that for sure. It's like why bother until they start to feel they should look presentable?

This could go for a girlfriend's/wife's friend as well... who will be talking in her ear about you later... her? Trust me... when your girls friend doesn't like you... she will talk shit about you and try to split you up. The woman's friends are one of the biggest dangers to any relationship. Most cheating by females is caused because of her friends. That's my life experience 101.

Maybe for the same reason women adjust their tops? I'm a scruff now so I don't. But yeah I did automatically do that a while back. I think a good looking girl prompts a look good response like straightening/tightening your tie. Before I transitioned to a scruff I was quite particular wrt the knot.

It is not as if we think a girl will want our babies if we have a straight tie.

It’s a habit. Depending on the guy, it’s not necessarily that he wants to impress a random girl so that he can cheat on his wife. It’s most likely that he doesn’t want to be ridiculed for looking frumpy in front of another girl.
