Why do I put hot guys on a pedestal and can't talk to them?

I don't know why, but I can't talk to hot guys. I find them intimidating to talk to and I get nervous. Even though I myself am considered "hot" as well. With guys I'm not physically attracted to I find it much easier. Does anyone else experience this with the opposite sex?

For e. g., I had a crush on this guy last year, I found him really attractive. Even though he's just a normal person and everyone said we would look good together and that we were about on the same level of attractiveness, I found it impossible to talk to him without sounding like an idiot. I put him on this pedestal for some reason.

I don't know why I'm always like this. How do you fix this? How do you talk to attractive people like a normal person?
