I I’ve noticed a few guys doing it and I wondered what it means? Are they nervous or something? For me it’s uncomfortable to put my hands in my trouser pockets or whatever
Well its sign of shyness and is a defense posture. Or is seen as being rude or looking down on someone... again its defensive posture and that could be for a variety of reasons.
I personally am Italian and therefore I am aminated with my hands while talking. So yeah, if I feel I am using my hands too much I put them in my pockets... because sometimes people see hand movements as being too aggressive.
But then again I am doing that because I am being defensive... because I feel self-conscious when I think the other person is seeing it as a turn off. But this does not happen to me very often honestly.
Mostly I do it in arguments after I have given up on making my point... or again since I am animated, I don't want to offend the other person and I am trying to control my body language. So in this case it is a sing of me being rude or looking down on their stance.
For most people it's a clear sign of shyness, or lack of self-confidence. For me it's the complete opposite, I am trying not to be over bearing with my confidence or too assertive.
Its either something they naturally do or their nervous. Its definitely not a display of confidence.
Sometimes it's to hide an erection.
