They may not be REALLY crushing on her. It's somehow normal, when a new girl joined a workplace, guys will subconsciously/consciously think that there may be a new potential romantic interest, when guys are so used to the old females colleagues, they will put their hopes on a new one. There'll be new fantasy or a new person. They have this thought even before the girl's first day.

They might not really be crushing on her but just acting out their "wish" to meet a new potential romantic interest.

Because she’s cute or pretty. Nothing hard about that. Now whether they want to be in a relationship w her or just hang her that’s something else. It’s obviously all based purely on looks from the beginning.

Honestly sounds like someone I used to know. Ended 8 years with a guy (yes he was troubled but actually was putting in the work to grow) to go chase a guy 10 years younger for the "high". Funny that the first thing done was engagement when thr last guy was about to propose...
