I have a male friend that i've known a little over 2 years. about a yr in a realized i liked him a little more than a friend. so i told him. he reciprocated but we just remained friends. Last week we were drinking he was a little tipsy and said how he doesn't want to lose me so he doesn't want to cross the line of friendship. He says this out of nowhere?
I'm fine with being friends but when he does stuff like that my mind wonders. What do you all think. Have any of you ever been in this situation?

The alcohol made him show you that he has feelings for you too. Even though you told him you liked him a little more than a friend, he was still probably scared to tell you he felt the same way, so wanted to try to keep it at just friends. When he got tipsy he came out and pretty much let you know he does like you for more, but he is worried that he will in some way mess it up if he starts pursuing you for more than just a friendship.
There isn't a relationship to navigate. Don't wait for an indecisive man.
If the whole revelation happened more recently then maybe it’s been on his mind. His decision is to remain friends and he just wanted to tell you, even if it did feel out of nowhere. This way there won’t be any confusion or crossing the line.
