It's mental work on his part... I'd say therapy, which he could do on his own, but it's effort to think and change.
Any man spending that much time/effort on social media should be replaced for that reason alone. It's such a scourge on realistic life choices/understanding. Nobody posts the sucky stuff only all the fabulousness.
