I think it's healthy for an ex to hope you find a good relationship with someone else. Why not? WIsh you ill? What's the good of that? As goofy as my ex is, I hope he's happy, because he was a miserable person at the end of our marriage. I know he's not, but I can only hope. I'm pretty happy.

I know a woman who got pregnant with a fiancés child and after they broke up, she tried to get me to possibly date him because she did not want her daughters father to be depressed and lonely. There are people who will love you like a sister or friend or platonic companion after a break up.

From my personal experience, I have dated woman that take no responsibility for their actions, or behaviors. They just blame men for them, and therefore they are not truly learning or improving upon themselves... because it's not them it's always the guy's problem.

Well in that case then he is saying it because he knows he will never make you happy, and that is basically for his own reasons and is purely all about him, and honestly probably does not have anything to do with you. Don't put to much thought into why, there is no real knowing why.

Who knows, honestly? At the end of the day for what ever reason he doesn't think he will make you happy. So move on, you waste all this brain power triangulating all the possible reasons, but at the end of the day you will never really know.
