Women feel free to answer to but this is more a question for the men.

I was dying my 6 year old son's hair earlier and It got me thinking about how this is something that boys and men rarely ever seem to do. So men I'm wondering how many of y'all have ever dyed your hair?

If you have dyed it then what color did you change it to?

I've always wished that I was a blonde. Back in 1982, my brand new girlfriend had just graduated from the local beauty academy so, I asked her if she could colour my hair blonde. She said, "If you buy the chemicals, I can do it for you. So, I bought what she needed and had her go to it. The end result was me walking around for several months with a head full of golden orange hair! She was as amazed as I was! Especially since blonde or light coloured hair is in my lineage!! Irish, Scottish, Slovak, German!! My brother was a dark blonde, my oldest ex-sister was always a blonde, my youngest ex-sister has had hers coloured blonde for the past 20 or 30 years.
In `81, my aunt, who was also a beautician by hobby, gave me a perm!! At that point, I had a full beard so, when I was done getting the perm, I looked exactly like Ringo Starr when he was playing Frank Zappa in, "200 Motels"! One night, I was waiting for a bus when some guy walked past me and asked if I was Bill Walton! I have no idea who that was and never watched, "The Waltons" so, I had no idea which one was Bill!! I, later, found out that Bill was some basketball player! Anyway, he said that I looked just like Bill Walton.

I have highlighted my hair natural colors because it I’ve been told it improves my appearance. I am fair skinned with blue eyes. Also my hair has thinned over the years and blondish hair makes it less obvious. Having blondish hair looks good for me but my natural hair color is brownish red. But I have never done unnatural colors nor ever will

Anyway unless you are some sort of entertainer who depends on being dynamic dying your hair an unnatural color isn’t a good idea. Men especially men over 30 look pathetic if they do this.

Truth be told a part of me trusts women who dye there hair unnatural colors much less. Especially nowadays. If you dye your hair blue it just screams “I’m a woke liberal! I want you to not like my hair color so that way I can claim I’m a victim!”

I have dyed my hair, I'm not really sure how many times. Maybe around a dozen or so? Usually I did it with a mohawk, though I couple of times I did it just with my regular hair. I've tried several colors, but bright (unnatural) red seems to come out the best. Blue would be cool but it doesn't seem to stick very well in my dark hair, even if I bleach/decolor it first. When I bleached my short hair, my little brother thought I looked like Eminem. :)

I never have, but this question makes me think about laser hair removal. I understand that laser hair removal doesn't work on gray hair. I wonder if dying it would allow it to work. I guess a phone call would reveal the answer to me.

In high school, and junior high, I bleached it a few times, and did the hot topic temporary dyes. Once did a professional bleach/dye job which was a nightmare. It looked like I wanted for maybe a week, then I looked like doc from back to the future with how fried my hair was with zero color. They used a metallic dye to get rid of the yellow, so it wouldn't hold most colored dyes.

My hair started graying early. Even in my mid-20s when I had really long hair, I had to pull out a few random strands of white hair.

By my mid-30s, well after I had cut my long hair, I had gray around the temples, which actually looked kind of sophisticated when I combed it back.

In my late 50s, I was in a rock band and decided to grow my hair out again. My wife is a hair dresser and we decided to try coloring my hair back to it's original, dark-chestnut color. But she left gray in the temples so that it wouldn't look fake.

I did that for a few years but decided that I didn't like it, so I quit coloring it and went back to being dark gray (It wasn't white).

Yeah, just twice now. First time my sister dyed it all blue for a costume contest. Second time me and her dyed a red and white stripe in each others hair to match and be Christmasy. Yeah, I have dyed my hair pitch black. Then I got cornrows-high-tail with braids in various colors using hair extension. It looked fascinating and girls have complimented me (but never went on a date with any of them).

Since early in school I have had a few grey hairs. Sometime around high school I started using henna. Which is a natural dye and gives orange/brown tone. It only dyes the light /grey hair since it doesn't have any bleeching agent.
It leaves the remaining hair which is black in my case as is, just some brown hue if you watch it under a light source.

Henna dying is very common in India since it's natural powder of henna leaves.

However for about last 6-7 years I stopped using even henna and started embracing my natural grey hair. People think I am 10-15 years younger by my looks so I have got to leave some grey hair for clue 😉
