Why does a narcissist keep trying to get my attention?

He acts like he hates me; admits to wanting to play mind games and wants to make me jealous with himself in photos with other women and boasting about his wealth, then when that doesn’t work, he sends messages like he’s being honest, as though we’re still friends. Saying he wants other people’s approval and isn’t entirely happy with himself. What’s that about? I don’t get him or narcissists in general.

I have been with plenty of narcissists. I dated them and I lived with an aunt who was one last year. These people will do things like this.

There's no explanation for why they are like this. They always play the victim. They will say mean things to you just to see how you will react. You're wrong, they're always right. They will tell you what they want you to hear one minute and then flip it around the next.

What he is doing to you is seeing what buttons he can push and how far he can push you. A narcissist will pretend they are being honest, and they can be very very very convincing, but in the end, you are the bait and they are the fishing pole, and once they get you hooked, they will drain you until you are nothing and you have nothing. I lost everything because of people like this.

Be extremely careful. I'm sorry about your situations. No matter what, you will never understand him. That's the way these people are. I know, it sucks!
