Could be all of the above being popular doesn't necessarily mean anything it depends on the type the guy likes, in school I was always riding with the local gangs and I liked shy and nerdy girls as well, it has nothing to do with popularity or what they do, is how they think and if a nerdy smart, quite and timid girl attracts him, then it just does lol

He's checking people for you, that's a good sign, it's like "I make fun of her to bond with her, you do it to bully her, only I can do it back off" type of thing, even if it came out friendly I know that's not the case
