Nope. I was never really interested in having kids. There was only one thing that made me think about it, and that was the idea of passing on my family name and bloodline.

But I don't think babies are cute. Raising kids is a HUGE commitment and responsibility. You basically have to want to give up your freedom and live your life for them.

I totally get that I'm not the norm.

I didn't even decide to stop being free and having fun until my earlyish 30s. That's when I started thinking about finding a life partner to settle down with for the rest of my life and start a new chapter.

I had a couple more long-term girlfriends but those relationships didn't work out.

I finally met my future wife when I was 40. She's 2.5 years younger than I. We got married two years later. We had both lived full lives before we met but neither of us had ever been married.

She had a strong maternal instinct and wanted to have a baby. She would have made a wonderful mommy. But she had two miscarriages very early in our marriage and decided to give up.

Over the years, though, she decided that she's glad that we didn't have kids. The two of us have had LOTS of fun and built a wonderful life together. Kids would be a huge worry, responsibility, and economic drain. We like our life as a couple without kids bothering us.

Yeah...2 adults now and a 12-year-old. I'm also the main caretaker if that matters. Twenty-something, 18 with a damn baby of his own already are the other two... and I'm about to turn 41 next month.

For some reason, I never produced any girls. Seeing that my Mom forced me to raise my sisters, I guess that was checked off my list already.

No but I want them. Going to start asap and ready to have one as early as next year…just turned 32 . 2 years ago I was at the beach on a family trip holding my niece and something just clicked, I couldn’t give her up.
