Confused with this situation?

Been talking for 6 months and when l confessed my feelings to him he tells me that I am a nice person as well but he’s not looking for a relationship right now and he’s just focused on himself but says he’s ok with getting to know people that’s why he communicates but he’s got other focuses right now and he still watches my posts. But also mentioned if he stops talking to not think he ghosted.

Sounds totally typical for someone in your age range. Just a personal observation here In my experiences:

A) 1/3 of the time "I'm working on myself" means just that - not ready to share or care
B) 1/3 of the time "I'm working on myself" means "I'm just not interested in you and this is the least confrontational and most comfortable way to say it
C) 1/3 of the time it means something else besides those 2 things!

How can you tell which it means? If he starts dating someone else soon after he tells you this, you know it was option B. If he doesn't do that, it can be A or C.

That’s what I’m doing. Why do you think he doesn’t want me to think he ghosted me if he stops talking but he did.
