Why would a man “like” a woman on a dating app, but not talk to her?

A lot of guys use the "shotgun method". They "like" essentialy all the women with a decent picture, then, if they get responses or likes in return, will read the profiles... maybe... and make a selection.

You may be one of a couple hundred women each guy has liked.

My approach to online dating was much more personal. I'd like and then introduce myself. This, however, is time consuming and requires patience and persistence to find someone who is really interested. Nonetheless, it paid off for me.

I don't think guys are intimidated. I just think you got passed over for whatever reason... or no reason at all. I don't know, as I don't know what your profile says.

I think they feel flattered, but yes, they're afraid they'll put their footing their mouth.

I've been on dating said where I got liked, I tried to start a conversation, she then nothing further. It happens to a lot of guys and sometimes we feel we'll have a better chance if the woman takes the lead.

And it might just be that I'm not the greatest conversation starter.

It’s the result of the root condition. They are not confident individuals and as soon as you peel away that protection they will hide for fear of failure. If this is someone you really want just be more forceful but understanding. Guide and conquer.
