Am I in the wrong or is it his fault?

I arranged to get an auto car technician to fix the wire in my speaker. Last night, he agreed he’d come in the morning and said he would call me in the morning to confirm the time etc. I waited all morning today and he didn’t show up, no call either. I assumed he was a no show and decided to go out at 11:45am.

I get a call at 11:52 which I couldn’t answer as I was driving. When I stopped at 12:05, he left a voicemail saying he was on his way. I texted him explaining how I haven’t heard from him etc and said I decided to go out since he didn’t turn up. He ignored my message. When I got back, my flat mates said he came to the door and was kicking off, saying it was my fault and that he was livid. But surely that’s unfair? He was a no show all morning and surely it should be me who’s angry cause he wasn’t there? If he called and said he’d be a bit later, then I would have stayed. But I thought he forgot which is why I went out. He also agreed to be there in the morning and he wasn’t here all morning. Is it my fault? Or his? I don’t get how he’s angry considering he didn’t turn up until the afternoon with no warning

He was supposed to call me this morning to tell me a time, so I had no clue. And he turned up in the afternoon, not even in the morning as agreed

Yeah, sounds like miscommunication on his part. I don't know what the morning is for him, I know some even consider brunch to be breakfast, or who knows maybe he overslept, I don't know. But by the time you went out it was nearly noon, even a couple minutes shy of 12p by the time he called. It was hardly 10 min by the time you called back, not long at all. This is incompetent on his part for sure.

Agreed. And I find it a very bad flag that he took it out on my flat mates, he doesn’t sound like a nice person

Very true, that was so uncalled for. The only flaw I could really imagine is maybe you could’ve reached out in the morning rather than assuming he wasn’t gonna come and leaving. Maybe he was mad about that. BUT I also understand you were expecting him to call as he said he would, so just that aspect I could see some miscommunication. But aside from that, his whole way of handling this was unprofessional. He didn’t respond to your message saying you went out, and was hardly at your place 10 minutes before leaving. Overall just not a great experience.
