My hairdresser who I've been going to for 6 years, still supported him after covid lockdowns even though its far away from me

I get full highlights and the whole works done so I spend a good $180 plus there each time

There's an app that offers discounts I used to book him through until 3 years ago he asked me to book with him directly but I would still get the discounts which I did.

As the last year has gone by, the price has been getting more expensive. So my hairdresser has booked me in for a treatment, I came across the same app again and asked my hairdresser if I could get the deal on there. He said he's not on the app and its for newbie hairdressers and if I go there he cannot guarantee the results.

I didn't even reply yet then he said he's not on that app anyways and I replied and said your name comes up and when I book it says the discount on there?

Then he replied with well if it comes through he always cancels them and does he want me to cancel my booking with him.

Who's in the wrong here?

Also what do I reply to his message about cancelling. Should I just find someone else?
