Someone I've been dating recently started to have these internal freak outs where I'd get blocked on everything and not hear from them for a couple days and go completely AWOL, the first it happened it sent me into a spiral because I genuinely thought I got ghosted which made me incredibly sad but after 3-4 days they came back and explained to me that they were having an "internal freak out"
Things were normal and we went back to talking to each other again and it happened again.. I don't know what to do or how to help.
I'm not sure if this is a cause of any work PTSD or what but I am feeling to anxious and helpless right now.

Complex answer… everyone are individuals. Even when married there are times when the other person in your life need to be with friends, family, or simply needs to be alone. We all need space at one time or another.
That's while married. While dating it's the same. Just with less responsibility to tell the other person what you are doing every day. So yes it can cause freakouts. What I suggest is communication... Tell him how you feel and let him know it's ok if we won't be in touch some days, but it would be nice to know which days so you don't worry.
Leave him alone of course. You’re not even in a relationship, then you’re allowing him to treat you like that, it’s all so silly and immature. There’s way too many men available in this world to settle for all that whiplash.
How long do you know them?
