Guys, Are gamer guys antisocial?

I automatically see it as a red flag.

Every time I hear a guy say he's a gamer, I think he's anti-social. Do they play video games all day? Or can a guy still be a gamer and only play once in a while?

Well I'm one and has no problem with social activities mi actually prefer them than gaming.

By friend is one, has a girlfriend and they still doing sometimes social stuff.

It depends. Most of guys I know who played with me very long hours can switch to social life easily.

Most gamers are playing with other people... in... a social interaction. They are by definition being social. Just because they don't like YOUR friends doesn't mean they are antisocial.

Your friends... your... interests... how are you defining him as antisocial. If he's playing COD with his bros he's literally engaged in a social activity with them, so what criteria are we using to define him as antisocial when the very nature of what he's doing is social interaction, at a minimum just as much as a chat room would be or something along those lines.

Well it's not 24/7 because he has a job presumably, sleeps, eats and showers. If you drop the hyperbole we could give you better answers. So how much does he ACTUALLY play?

Ok so the only thing on your list that requires social interaction is a job... what if he does only that and nothing else? Now is he antisocial?

All jobs don't require social interaction so that doesn't even matter. You can do data entry or programming and not talk to another person all day. Gaming is far MORE social interaction than either of those careers, because again, he's playing WITH someone, or a group, because there are other people in the game. You're still not defining the problem. What's the difference between a computer programmer working 60 hours a week and your boyfriend having a job that DOES hav social interaction and playing video games in his time off? You just don't like video games. Gotcha. Just say that. Don't make up some fake reason about "antisocial" when the guy is spending more time being social than the computer programmer is. Just say you don't like video games. You're entitled to your opinion.

Also what if he plays 2 hours a day? That's less than most people watch TV. That's not a social activity either. Do you dislike TV as much as video games?

The risk is real and some gamers lose themselves in a fantasy world.

However, for some of them, a girl holds the power to free them and haul them back into the real world. With her it becomes alluring and rewarding.

No. Unless the guy is unwilling to play less to make time for his in person relationships, or he’s clearly addicted. That should be the red flag. There are definitely guys who just want a sex bot girlfriend that exists for them to be physical with when they’re bored between games, but there are plenty who play casually like someone else would watch tv or something. Just something to do when you got nothing else going on.
