Girlfriend or embarrassed?

I was dealing with this guy pretty frequently for a few months and in an argument I told him that I didn’t like him the next day I reached out to talk to him and he told me he had a girlfriend which made me stop all contact with him.

recently, we started seeing each other but not as frequently as before and I told him not to talk to me if he did have a girlfriend, but he still reaches out to me and he doesn’t answer my question when I do ask him does he have a girlfriend I’m not sure if he’s embarrassed because he lied or he actually does have a girlfriend.
