What do you think is this guy's problem?

He is always arguing with his mother, swearing at his mother, telling his mother that he will stab her, telling his mother that he wants his mother dead, he used to beat his mother in the past and even put out a cigarette in his mother's face.

I think it could be that she´s been controlling in his childhood or at least made him feel like she´s so. I think he´s been hurt by her and probably didn´t feel appreciated by her for whom he is.

Why doesn’t his mom just kick him out? He seems like a very dangerous and violent person that has a lot of issues
