He shows signs of liking me but doesn't want me to ask him personal questions?

Im very confused by this guy who started chatting to me. He goes out of his way to spend time with me (even during exam season) daily but he doesn't really talk much. I will be the one chatting 90% of the time unless its a topic he likes but still likes being around me.

He often invites me to play games with him 1 on 1 and he has DMed me a few times within a few months. He gives me silly nicknames and he says good night to me when we have finished talking for the night (he doesn't say this to anyone else) and sounds like he gets a bit flustered when he does.

He has asked personal questions about me and does often try to get my attention. I like him back but he gets put off when I ask him questions about himself, anything TOO personal.

Im not really sure what to do because I am interested in him and have a slight crush on him but I dont know him well enough

Mixed signals and confusion is not a green light. Not a red flag tho. I think you should wait for him to open up. He seems to like you too, maybe he doesn't know how to talk when the topic is about himself. This sounds weird but it happens a lot.

It's funny you mention that he doesn't know how to talk about himself, because I do get the feeling he does not know himself either. I have asked some questions, but he seems resilient to answer them sometimes, and gives me a vague answer. So I have not pushed it on him too much, I usually talk about myself sometimes and other topics we both find interesting. I did ask him if he was shy but he said no one has ever called him shy or quiet. So I am really not sure what else to do besides see what he does!
