Why are most metal guys so shy?

Just something I noticed, why?

You should always be sceptical of where and how information is gained.

It is entirely true that most surveys find that metalheads are a very introverted, often gentler type of people. Good with kids and enjoy disney.
We can associate that to opposites. Could link to how the closest style to metal is actually not rock but classical music and how that is a very reflective style.

Most likely, it is because to get numbers fast people use internet surveys and questionnaires. People taking those are the heavier internet users and being shy is much more common here than if you met people at a festival.

Personally I think it is a rather soft music style. Metal is almost always one of four categories of love, hate, death and political/societal criticsm. Ironically lyrics tend to get more focus than in most styles too. Emotions and contemplation is also going to be wildly more popular with shy people.

Personally while I'm not that much of a metalhead anymore I always did find it to be one of the most wholesome groups you can be a part of.

I guess in stereotypes metal guys are sort of the gentle giant archetype.

Because many nerds are into dark stuff, most goths are nerds too in the end of the day. :)

Anyone that I know listens or listened to metal usually were sorta loners stoners or were on the way of being death bc metal you metal you crank up.

Metal is very extroverted so it makes since to like it to compensate for being an introvert
