Can men sense when you’re scared?

My ex knew when I was afraid of him because he would say stuff like “you’re scared” or “you’re afraid of me”. When I was going home last night a guy that looked just like my ex was infront of me. Even though I was in a rush I didn’t dare past him, I just didn’t want him to see me or come at me even though he wasn’t my ex. It was him and another guy walking behind of him and the guy behind him turned back and look at me and so did he, I think they both knew I was afraid or something, I think they could smell the fear or sense it

Yes i can sense if a girl is scared of me but usually all the girls who knows me well are very comfortable and happy around me and they trust me blindly, why would i scare off people? Unless if they did something wrong with me...
