Should the guy be expected to pay the bill for dates? 🤔 especially if he asks you out?

I only get into relationships with women who already embrace traditional gender roles, so for me, paying for dates is just a normal thing. It's part of my responsibilities to her, just as she has responsibilities to me.

During times when I was single, I have, on a few occasions, taken girls out on dates who I knew did not have traditional values or embrace traditional gender roles, and it was known to both of us that this was only casual/short-term - even though we were friendly and enjoyed each other's company, we lacked long-term compatibility and we were aware of it. In those cases, we paid for ourselves, by mutual agreement.

My view is this: as a woman, you get the choice of either the "Modern Woman Package" or the "Patriarchy Package". In the former, you are an equal, and will be treated like an equal at all times, including when the bills arrive. If you choose the latter, then I pay the bills, and you take on traditional duties.

It's completely your choice, but you only get to have it one way or another - there's no mixing of benefits or picking and choosing of responsibilities.

Expected? No. I've always paid as is traditionally done. But on a majority of those dates has always at least offered to pay. If you're asking me do I think guys should pay? Yeah. Because of all the things I'm thinking about when I'm on a date I don't want "who's paying to be one of them. I'd just rather pay it and be done with it. Having said that I always appreciated when my date would offer. I would always decline the offer but I still appreciated hearing it. But I also accept I'm not every guy. The fact of the matter is a lot of strides have been made for equality in the past few decades. And along with the good parts you have to accept the bad ones as well. A guy might expect you to pony up your share. I think every woman should at least be prepared to pay thier way.

I think the one that asks the other one out should pay for the date, or at least offer to pay. When I ask a guy out I expect to be the one paying, the other way around I'll always offer to pay my share, especially when I've had a good time.

I don't believe you should be expected to do anything

Meaning you should be prepared for anything just to protect yourself in every way

Now in saying that,
I look at it this way if I'm going to ask a girl out it's because I like her and I like her quite a bit so I'm going to pay I wouldn't think of her paying.
And that goes for everything else that we do

Whether she's somebody that I really really like or she's just a friend when I ask somebody out I'm going to pay

But I see that there are guys on here.
That want girls to pay their own way
I don't understand why they're asking them out if they can't afford to take them out

I think a guy should be ready to pay if he asks a woman out especially if he chose the place. I´m not saying he´s obligated to pay but he should be able to offer to pay. Since it´s a gesture and an opportunity for him to show her that he´s financially stable and self secure enough to invest in a relationship.

Im 21 but my parents are 51 and 52. So I grew up with my parents being more old fashion. I believe if I ask a girl out on a date, I am offering her a meal to get to know her, regardless if it works out I offered a meal, so I'd pay. Even for relationships I believe i should pay.

Society has changed quite a bit over time though. Some guys don't believe in paying all the bill. It should be whoever asked for the date, realistically. Guy normally ask for the date so, they should pay.

If she is from a hardcore Christian, Muslim or Jewish believe, 100% absolutely I will. In fact, I will respect her so much, that I would meet her father first, before taking her out on our official date. As it goes for regular women, ESPECIALLY here in United States, absolutely not. Equality and all that noise remember, all none religious, none cultured women are stronger than Arnold Schwarzenegger and smarter than Elon Musk. So they can pay their own bill and I will pay mine.

If he asks you out, he pays. But at the same time he chooses the place. So don't complain if you don't like the place. Be respectful. If you want to split - offer. At least this will give you more info about his character. If he really likes you, he will refuse and pay alone to give impression.

as long as he knows what you really look like than yes, if you used a old photo in your dating app than, I can understand if he doesn't want to pay, but if he asked you out he should pay the first time unless you are horrible to be around.
