Once you’re in your 30s, people usually expect you to have a job and your own place to live. Like if you live with parents you probably have to explain to people that you’re saving up for a down payment on a house.

From about the mid 90's and before over here in the US, it was really easy for young people to get a shitty job and afford to move out of their parent's house. Now the rent prices have skyrocketed, but the wages have not increased on a par with the rent increases. Living with your parents is a lot more common over here than it was 50 years ago. Times change.
Nope loads people can't afford to leave home now a day's. You can always learn to drive
No its not too old. With the way the economy is now it might be the smartest move to make.
