Should I respond to an old “friend”?

A guy who used to like me (but then we were kinda friends) randomly texted me today after unfollowing me, and us having no contact for 2 months… should I respond?

We had really fun conversations, and hung out some a couple years ago. I thought we were good friends- so that’s why. I was kind of hurt when he unfollowed me and everything but I just accepted we’d probably never talk again. So that’s why I’m torn with whether I should respond or not.

Gotcha, just curious because if it were anything more I’m not sure what him being MIA says about his intentions. But if you’re only friends then I don’t see a problem.
