Why don’t guys ever talk about their feelings or show their affection through words?

I texted my boyfriend something sweet and he responded with “aw damn” He never really shows emotions or tells me how much he loves me tho so I’m not surprised

"Why don't men talk about their feelings" because we know women THINK they want their guy to be emotional, but the reality is woman want their man to be a MAN (and there's nothing wrong with that) also because talking about feelings/crying doesn't really help men. That's why many men try talk therapy and still end up committing suicide.

"Why don't men show affection through words" words mean nothing.

Instead of trying to make him feel bad for just being a normal dude, how about you start trying to understand the men around you and accept that men and women are very different.

Different people show feelings in different ways. Just because someone doesn't do it your way doesn't mean it doesn't get done. Stop looking for stuff like that in the ways you do it and pay attention to how he is showing you all of those things.

Because at best she's going to judge you negatively for it. At worst she's going to use it to manipulate you. Any guy with ANY experience with women knows you she's just enough emotion to keep her wanting more, and never more than that.
