I don’t think saying someone’s cute is a bad thing. But with me being cute or acting cute can mean something different than just being physically attractive.

I think my boyfriend is very handsome. But I also find him cute when he does certain things. Like he has a smirk he does sometimes when he thinks something is funny. I find that very cute. Or when he first wakes up and his beard looks wild for some reason I think that’s really cute. Or when I see how he interacts with his dog, how he baby’s the dog I think it’s really cute.

Because we Don't take so many Compliments as we Offer, we like to be known as Giving than taking compliments. Our compliments stand in You the Female (teasing us, attract us, lure us) with your looks, chemistry, arousal, etc.
From own experience i've learned that "cute" for me (Men) seems that is just Cute and that's it, Nothing more. So it wasn't enough "for her" to make her move further. 🤷‍♂️
So being called cute, is like... Thanks but No Thanks!

Cute is for kids. Cute is for objects. Cute is for your new purse. And cute is also a canned compliment, practically a cliche. It’s always there, easily within reach, something we sometimes say when we don’t know how to respond to someone else’s choices. E just call it “cute.” I mean it’s not “not” nice. M

It also doesn’t feel very genuine. And it’s use certainly doesn’t make us feel any hotter, manlier, or sexier. Quite the opposite. Tickle me Elmo is cute. Happy Feet is cute. We want to at least feel like you see us SS someone to sleep with and not watch Sesame Street with instead.

It probably just depends on the guy. I’ve called almost every guy I’ve ever dated cute and it was a compliment. It also didn’t bother them. I mean if you’re being cute then it’s cute, it isn’t a bad thing and it doesn’t mean someone isn’t a man/not masculine.

I don't mind being called that. I notice that I'll just prefer if they just don't call my actions "cute." Context matters of course, so it doesn't always offend me, especially if the person is just joking around. I just don't appreciate when people belittle me or simplify me if I'm being serious or if I'm genuinely being authentic or even vulnerable. So I'll be infinitely more annoyed by them if they do that.

If I like someone I find them cute. It’s rare for me to think of someone being cute. So, from me, that’s definitely a compliment.

I still don’t really know how to deal with it. I don’t really say anything. I’ve had girls get mad at me for not vocally acknowledging their compliment. Which wasn’t attractive. If not acknowledging in that manner is comfortable for me, that should be good enough for them. That’s that entitlement. I didn’t have to respond how they wanted me too.

From someone close I do not think we do, but in general it is rather emasculating to be thought of as "cute". Men have an innate need for a certain level of respect and being "cute" doesn't fit that bill.
