Do some men call their girlfriends by their first names?

My ex called me pet names and cute nickname version of my first name and has never called me my name, until after break up, I liked it that way.

Do some men call their girlfriends their real names? And why

My lady’s real name is beautiful, but I almost never address her by it. I think it would have to be in a very serious, probably angry situation, and luckily we almost never have those. But it’s a nice name to introduce her to other people by. Other than that, I almost exclusively call her “Tubby”, or “Tubbs” for short. Occasionally, it’s “Tubbita”, because she’s Latina, haha. We decided early on in our relationship to give each other pet names that would be mildly embarrassing in public, lmao, I suggested Tubby, sort of joking, I didn’t think she’d go for it because at that time she prided herself on being thin and petite. But I’ll always remember her little smile and laugh when I said it, and she sheepishly said “I like that”, and 17 years later it’s still going. Although one time a baker was giving me kind of a hard time, she was uncomfortable inscribing a cake with “Happy Birthday, Tubby”, and I had to convince her that it wasn’t meant as a mean joke on someone who wouldn’t appreciate it🤦‍♂️😂

i called one girl baby because she asked for one but i can't ever recall calling others pet names. i'm not a good example though. i haven't had a real relationship

Me and my husband always cal each other by our names or mean names like (goof, cockroach, and bro) I guess because watching my sister with all her bfs and then husband use pet names like babe and other cringy shit just turned me off of the idea LOL

I'd just chalk it up to just some guys (and girls sometimes) aren't into the whole pet name thing... but if its something you prefer you can always tell him. maybe for you he will do it.
