Like, do you get bored and distant if she talks about family, friends, and relationships? Do you prefer she talk about objects and/or the news?

+1 yAlmost anything, but I'm not sure I'm typical. I liked talking about most anything except politics, because it's divisive.. and negativity is certain to ruin the mood. Sports is a second worst for me as it's boring, but most guys dig it. Guys like to talk statistics... "can you believe such and such scored 20 pts in that game, his average is 34... wow!!". so exciting right?
If you really want to get a guys attention, talk about technology... the latest 12 speed shifters from Shimano, electric bikes, new motocross bikes, adventures and vacations, fishing gear, hiking boots, cars, old cars new cars, electrics. Warning.. do not get into the latest fashion trends and shopping, but technical specs... how long the leather lasts, comfort. If guys get into fashion, they are gay as the tooth fairy... note to self.
Relationship stuff can be good at the right level and time.

Even when you might just ask that because you are really interested in knowing... to me it would immediately ring alarm bells in my head because I came across way to many gold diggers already before and they do this as well to find out how much money I have
#trully hate woman that are just digging for gold on a date17 Reply- +1 y
That's fine but just don't start about it right away!!!
If you do anyways... maybe if their is a awkward silence immediately...
Ask about his work but tell him straight away that money isn't what you are looking for and it's just a question out of curiosity
Last thing I wanne talk about is work related stuff when I'm dating someone. Eventually we will talk about it more then is necessary probably so you will find out anyways 🤷♂️
Personally I lose interest almost straight away when this question pops up immediately in the beginning.
She either has to be really nice or really attractive.. to keep me still interested enough to continue the conversation but even when we do.. my concerns are raised to the roof at that moment 🧐
Definitely not red flags straight away but the flags are already colored dark orange for me then
Therefore I hate this question because it raises unnecessary concerns in my mind while she might be a very genuine good woman to have instead - +1 y
I disagree with this. I love what I do, I work a lot (still make time for personal life) and work is an important part of my life. And it's important to me that the guy loves what he does too. That he's making an effort to do what he loves and has some form of ambition. That doesn't make me a gold digger, but it shows if we share or don't share one of my biggest values. Because I need someone who is on the same level as me there.
But I also always add that the more important question is if the man loves what he does. Plus, most of my dates already know I own a business anyway (if we met online), and since they usually ask what I do as well, they also find out I do 2 jobs. So I think that makes a big difference.
All in all, I wouldn't say you shouldn't start a convo with what the other person does (I literally do often start with that IF there's nothing else specific I could ask). I would just say pay attention to how you talk about this topic or how the other person talks about it. - +1 y
@ Asimiv Just understand that gold diggers are a real threat to many men because there a lot of them put there.
You can compare it to men just looking for sex on dating apps. They are a threat to woman looking for a relationship as well because there are a lot of them out them
🤷🏻♂️
- +1 y
None of these are threats. We know how to recognize when a man wants only sex and we also know how to ask directly why he is here. At least enough of us do. So instead of avoiding a topic that may actually be important to someone, pay attenion to how a person acts and ask about their intentions directly.
E. g. I will always talk about work on the first date, but I will also never expect a man to pay nor requore anything fancy for the first date (just going for a drink is more than enough). I only let the man pay if he insists on paying after I have already gotten my wallet out. And if each of us pays for our own drink, that's more than fine. - +1 y
@Asimiv You are speaking for all woman but you have no clue how often woman pick the wrong guys that only want sex 😂 You are smarter then most of them because I see lots of girls make the same mistake again and again and again. And afterwards you hear them say... "Why are all men the same?"
You can talk about work on the first date that's okay... I only said don't start the conversation with asking about my job because then you make me doubt what your intentions are. It's fine to do it later on during the date. Just don't start with it!
Your expectations for the date are pretty amazing. That is something guys will like about your personality for sure. But either way a real gentlemen will actually pay the full bill although he might appreciate that you offer him to split it. I know I would appreciate the offer but I would decline the offer respectfully and pay the bill anyways. Your approach on who is paying the bill is perfect in my opinion💪🏼🫶🏼

I mean I just say I date this chick, she was really nice and sweet, but it just didn't work out. Like that is all you really need to know, and honestly, I have no interest in why you got divorced or broke up with your ex-boyfriend. Like I am not him and I would rather make my own opinion about you. Because whatever that issue was with him, he is not me...
But they can't help it, they start going on about their ex.. telling me what he did, then what see did... and now I am already drawing comparisons in my mind to a long list of women that did fucked up shit to me, when they sat there and said the same things to me about their ex, that they are doing now.
I like to speak more about the future, life goals beyond career ambitions. How they see dating fitting in their lives. Like I am 47, lots of single working moms out there that will say they want love and commitment... but you work all day and three kids... so how do you see dating fitting into your life and then let's focus on those things and find a way to make it work.
I like to talk about future plans and set dates and then follow through... I hate the I don't know let me get back to you. Like you said you wanted to go on a second date so lets talk about that... but you cannot you say let me get back to you without any definitive answer on when or where or what... like you just put a cap on that conversation and that is what is I wanted to talk about. But since you pretty much dismissed the subject, now we are not talking about something productive that will lead to other conversations... instead, you're just sitting there like, okay?

+1 yLike, I believe in listening to what interest her. This is how you connect and learn about her. Like, when she is sharing something, and the man chooses to listen, and is able to, at a later date, bring up that subject.
Like, by doing so, l am able to connect and show her respect. If she needs a shoulder to cry on, l am like there to listen. If she needs advice, l will provide it.
I believe it is very important to allow her to talk about whatever. The thing is, people just love talking about themselves. This takes the pressure off of me feeling like l must do all the entertaining. There is also the chance that she will share something that l can add to.
What is really impressive is if she learns from others what my interest are and can weave that into the conversation somehow without being obvious about it. Then she has given me the opportunity to open up and communicate with her.
People don’t need to have shared interest, but learning what they are into is an act of kindness, respect and caring.10 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yAs like many men I see relationships as tool to deal with the problems of life, i prefer conversations focused on such issues.
All relationships really are in nature tools to solve problems. This may sound selfish and untrustworthy that is only among people too arrogant and short term in their judgement which unfortunate includes most people.
Nonetheless your relationships are driven by nature because at some level they serve your self-interest even if your unaware of it. Women place more interest in relationships because historically their livelihood was far more depended upon them than men's.
Unfortunately this interest in the ever more complex modern world leads women to frequently over-complicate and create problems where none before existed via faulty information.12 Reply

Ask a engineer what happens if they overly complicate a system with more features and dependent system. Not only does it break down more, the work required to maintain it gets exponentially larger.
Women tend to treat relationships like a hobby because they tend to find them soo interesting. Unfortunately that means many women tend to complicate them by adding features, qualification, rules etc...
The more knowledgeable and presumably intelligent the women have the more complicated they can make it. Hence why its gotten soo out of control as most of the female population has become more educated.
Men by contrast tend not to have soo much interest in relationships and instead are interested in technical issues of the world at large. The result is men are far behind women when it comes to managing relationships.
A lot of women fault men for this fact claiming they are carrying all the weight of maintaining the relationship but really women are creating all that weight with their rules, features, and qualifications The man is generally obvious to most of it.

+1 yI'd like to know who she is/what she does/where she's going if I'm going to date her.
If it's a hook-up thing I care less. Where's a good place to eat/drink/get coffee? What are you looking for tonight?
I hate small talk either way and in my field, the last thing I want to talk about on a date is anything in the news.

Ooh let me clarify..."what she does" as in "in her free time" not "for a living." I honestly couldn't give shite in a shampoo bottle what she does for a living unless it's something cool like builds rocket packs or paper mâché molds for kitten prosthetics or something really unique.
Usually I don't really mind what she talks about.
Well if she starts talking about sex though, she would be getting even more of my attention.
However, if it's on the first date, it would set off alarms in my head. The thing is, the more a woman talks to you, the more topics she hits over time, the more confirmation you get as a guy that she's building trust in you.
21 Reply4.9K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Besides your immediate family, we don't really want to hear about people we don't know, especially if it is relationship gossip or "drama", such as another girl wearing a similar outfit as you.
We don't mind hearing about YOU, but we aren't in a relationship with your frienemy Stacy, or your gay cousin Steve, so we don't need to hear about them unless it directly impacts you in a substantial way.
Obviously your parents and siblings are largely exempted from this rule if they are an important part of your life - and we will probably meet them if we haven't already.
You wouldn't want us to talk your ear off about Javascript, the different types of fuel injection, or why we're stuck on level 89 of our video game for hours at a time, even if those things are important to us, and we know this and keep it to ourselves. All you have to do is ask yourself: if I was a guy, would I care about this topic? If the answer is NO, skip to something else.10 Reply
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yIf she starts talking about the Kardashians or Taylor swift I'm probably going to start eyeing the exit pretty hard.🤣
Otherwise there's not a whole lot I don't like talking about. I have a philosophy that you never know who you're going to learn something from so it always pays to listen.
My passions are investing, basketball, and astronomy. But this isn't really conversation beginners. These are things that you talk about when people know you already. So as long as she's honest about who she is it don't matter a whole lot what we talk about.
10 ReplyThat would depend on each other’s level of intelligence, education, background, profession, hobbies, etc. I’m into history, literature, art, architecture, archaeology, classical music and sports, so naturally I like to talk about these subjects, so I seek like minded people otherwise they will avoid me or I will bore them to death.

Yeah , I dislike the family , friends , relationships bit , just find that annoying. As for the rest anything that she is actually into is fine , can be political , sports , I dont care , just more interesting if she is generally into it , even if I disagree.
Current events , may well show her intellect.

Talk about something you´re interested in like hobbies, music or podcasts, something you experienced on the way while meeting with me or something that happened to you that stuck with you. Or something I need to know to get to know you.

00 Reply 1.2K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. I'd prefer a discussion on geopol. However that is unlikely and mostly women talk about themselves/friends/family/clothing.
It works better than you might expect because I don't like having responsibility for making conversation.
00 ReplyI depends on how well I know/like her, or how relevant/what it adds to the current conversation. The less so, I would prefer topics about things of a more objective nature, to exchange ideas and get to know each other that way. That being said, I would not say I am typical, as I care more about that in my own life, being more of a solitary person (Enneagram 5)
