Guy's Behavior

Am I complicating things or is he trying insinuate something?

Hi! I am new here. I (19F) was dating a guy (19M) for 1.5 years. We broke up early 2021 and I am pretty sure he has moved on and so have I.

We've always been on good terms really, we have no specific animosity against one another, we're good friends.

What brings me here, is the fact that we weren't in talking terms for 2 months or so, and I honestly didn't expect him to ring me up, text me or whatever (neither was i waiting). So, one day he suddenly calls me, recently. He is having a shitty time, he is all depressed and all that, so he goes "why did you leave me?". It's not like he was drunk or whatever but the whole point of him asking this was apparently because he thinks "there's a problem" in him this and that.

NOWWW, he has started to call me almost everyday. and when I dont call him, the next day he calls me up and goes "you didn't call me".. and before hanging up he says "Call me whenever you get time, be it today tomorrow whenever"

I really dont know what he wants, he is my friend and I dont want to upfront ask him anything but, he was my first EVERYTHING, if you know what i mean.

A bit of help would be appreciated.
