Am I overthinking it or was he really avoiding the question, if so why?

Had an amazing first date last night.., he said so many great things about me and we were together from 7pm to midnight… we hold hands… sweet kiss.. made out… first base 😂 so idk…

I didn’t hear from him today, so I brought up the courage to tell him I couldn’t stop smiling thinking about our date… he said “Aw same” and asked about my day. I mentioned “Aw I’d love to hear your thoughts on it”, told him about my day, asked about his day. He only share about his day and what he’s doing right now….

If he was avoiding my question… does this mean he didn’t mean it?

I wanna add last night during the date I told him it’s the best date I had in a long time and he agreed as well. He also texted me that he has a great time & make sure I was home. So with all this info, do you think he really meant it due to our msgs today?

It's possible, out of courtesy at least, I'd say see if you can get a second date somehow and if so then maybe he meant it

Well don't feel bad, it's just them random ups and downs in life, worst case you'll just have to move on and meet someone else that will be certain that they enjoy your company.
